About Campusboard

We help students find somewhere to live. Halls, studios and private flats near your university, all in one place, and a real person to ask when a property page doesn't answer your question.

Our story

Campusboard started in 2013 as an online noticeboard to trade old textbooks and any unwanted items with other students on campus. It launched at the University of Exeter in 2014 and spread from there, campus by campus.

What students kept asking us for was somewhere to live. Housing is the biggest thing a student pays for after tuition, it gets decided under time pressure, and the market is deliberately hard to compare. So that is what we built next, and it is the main thing we do today. You can still buy and sell with other students on your campus, and find flatmates, but the property search is what most people come for.

We are a small team, based in London, working across the UK and increasingly beyond it. Searching and enquiring is free for students, and always will be: we are paid by the landlords and operators whose rooms get booked, never by the people looking for one.
